Not to mention, the Standing Rock Tribe is now being financed by Warren Buffett via Tides Foundation far more directly (Novo administers Buffett funding to Tides Foundation). This is literally asset management. When you are in fact being funded by the investor that has majority control of one of the corporations installing the pipeline (who owns it), the very obvious goal of cooperation and funding the opposition is attenuating it not to bite the hand that feeds. When you read Tides' statement to this effect, reflect on the fact of where they obtain money and that this means any statement of "our partners' philanthropic goals" includes Novo as well. As for point 5) of what to do (you'll notice the inclusion of this point attenuates every other directive they offer, since it deflects the use of the support and funds), they themselves are not even divesting in terms of where they obtain funding, as this DAPL investor is their donor. (Offspring may run Novo. It is his money, not theirs.) Their directive is purely hyporcritical as they themselves would never do it, as they wouldn't probably exist without the money.
AND TAKE NOTE, the directive is targeted purely at the BANKS involved and NOT THE INVESTORS. They've deflected, successfully, any consideration of boycotting their funding source, by directing the parties who are responsible for launching the boycott. They've succeeded in inserting this directive by collaborating with the Tribes financially, appearing as a good shepherd and assistant, and by doing so, DIRECT the direction of the protest away from their funder, who is invested in the DAPL directly more than 10 times than any of those banks, and also has majority control of the most egregious of those banks.
Here we have a Tides representative blogging about her experience at Standing Rock, -her solidarity with the movement, (a full-form froth of pure identity politics from practically begining to end that opines how beautiful it is that the entire resistance #NoDAPL lost the fight since the real beauty is in the sense of community).

- Note her instruction to defund all the banks is point 3, conveniently and completely evading her sponsor, the actual investor who the pipeline is actually for. This is in fact essential to why the movement lost. The investors felt no repercussions whatsoever, because Tides was there to direct the boycott purely against the banks loaning credit. What is so reprehensible is how whether knowing or unknowing, she has capitalized on that identity utterly while simultaneously utterly betraying it. Knowingly or unknowingly, she is there purely to deflect and attenuate the opposition she positions herself as being in full identity with, and doing so actively furnishes her own paycheck.

Now what is really astonishing in all this is that the entire resistance movement to oil infrastructure expansion in terms of increase (which was not deflected at all by directing this national protest to the Keystone XL, since that simply allocated distribution to oil by rail and meant investors Buffett and Gates profitted more handsomely) -that entire #NoDAPL movement has now been successfully redirected into a protest that more handsomely secures Warren Buffeit's oil by rail profits and infrastructure:
